Double top price peak of 18,500 Euros at Westphalian broodmare auction

Münster: Ten broodmares with a dressage pedigree and seven broodmares with a pedigree predispositioned for jumping were offered for sale this evening at the Westphalian Studbook. All mares offered are in foal to renowned sires. The online auction generated international interest. In the end, almost 90 percent of the auction candidates on offer changed hands at an average price of 9,417 euros. Both Vivien by Vitalis and Usha vd Berghoeve by Emerald van het Ruytershof were sold at the top price of 18,500 euros.

Those who would like to bring their future young horse into the world themselves in the coming year were well advised to have a look at this evenings auction at the Westphalian Studbook. In an online auction, a total of 17 broodmares in foal to renowned sires were up for sale.

Both among the dressage and jumping broodmares came the top price of 18,500 euros was the highest. The most expensive broodmare with a dressage pedigree was a daughter of the popular sire Vitalis with head number 1 (breeder: Reesink Pferde GmbH, Borken; exhibitor: Noortje Radstake, Netherlands). Her dam, Gogo Girl by Sir Donnerhall I, was victorious in dressage competitions at Inter I level. Vivien is in foal to the young stallion Succession. The son of Secret/Dancier was a premium stallion at the DSP licensing at the beginning of this year. For a long time, the international clientele fought for the knockdown of the strong moving chestnut mare. The bidding for head number 1 lasted almost 30 minutes, and with the 30th bid, the virtual auction hammer fell at the price of 18,500 Euros. Customers from the Netherlands are looking forward to the breeding future with this attractive mare. Head number 3 Usha vd Berghoeve (breeder: Vadebo NV, Belgium; exhibitor: Hendrik Zurich, Schüttorf) was also knocked down for 18,500 euros. The daughter of Emerald van het Ruytershof/Cornet Obolensky impresses in free jumping with overview and ability. Currently three years old, she is in foal to her first foal by Zirocco Blue. Her granddam is Nellypso Z, who won CSI Grand Prix competitions with Daniel Deusser. Usha vd Berghoeve was also knocked down with the 30th bid and will remain in Germany.

For an average price of 9,417 Euros, 15 mares in foal were sold this evening. Almost half of them found their new home outside Germany. In addition to the two price peaks, three other jumping broodmares cracked the 10,000 euro mark. Auction manager Thomas Münch summed up: "We are very pleased that this broodmare auction was so well received both in Germany and abroad. We are keeping our fingers crossed for all buyers that they will be able to accompany a healthy foal into the world next year. Then we hope to meet some offspring again at our foal auctions."
